2020 has not had a lot going for it. But one of the bright spots is that I’ve been able to reconnect with a lot of friends and family I haven’t talked to in years, including a dear friend from college. Not only did I discover that she now has a wonderful young daughter, her wonderful young daughter is a big Marvel comics fan, particularly Captain Marvel. I’ve been wanting to do this particular piece for a while as part of my “Historic Yarns”, recreating the introduction of Carol Danvers taking on the mantle of Captain Marvel, so this was the perfect excuse to make this rug and a Christmas present for a new generation of friends at the same time.
